The Wind of Change

Red sky at night, sailor’s delight
Does not work here, too far from the sea
But a poet’s delight it surely is
The glowing, fiery flame setting in the west
Has a fleeting chance
To dance
Through angry clouds from the south
Orange, vermillion, crimson and ochre
Fight for attention in the gathering grey
Displacing the blue that washes
The African sky all day
MacMillan warned the world
Of a wind of change
Rocking the continent
Rwanda, Biafra, Somalia bear the scars
Of the flames that came their way
The winds and clouds will never go away
Sails have to be trimmed for the right course
